London based duo Tough Love have rapidly risen through the ranks of the house scene over the last five years. Their distinct production, together with energetic and bass-heavy DJ sets, have created a cult following of hard-core fans across the UK and beyond. Their sound is instantly recognisable in their production and can be described as bass-infused house with plenty of ‘90s R&B and garage references and hard-hitting groove. It’s this infectious sound that won them 'Best Single' in The Bass Music Awards 2015 and saw them nominated for ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ at the DJ Mag Awards in 2016 Already notching up two UK Top 40 singles in So Freakin’ Tight & Pony (Jump On It), Tough Love have continued to demonstrate their production and songwriting prowess with a string of big dance records in ‘Touch’, ‘What You Need Is Me’ & ‘Like I Can’ & in 2017 announce there debut album ‘Past Present Future’ featuring new tracks with the likes of A*M*E, Alex Mills & more. The boys have always maintained their appetite for the underground and club scene as shown in recent releases ‘DLNW’, ‘Friday Night’, ‘Dopamine’, and the massive ‘Hold On’ - a collaboration with two of dance music’s greats in Roger Sanchez and Boy George. Tough Love’s Alex and Stef have been championed for their remixing ability and penchant for making fun, '90s inspired house records. This in-demand sound has seen them remix Chase & Status, Jess Glynne, Craig David, Sigala, Jamiroquai, X Ambassadors and Todd Terry all in the last 12 months alone. Support regularly comes from the dance music tastemakers at BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Kiss & Capital, with massive radio support from big names including Annie Mac, Danny Howard, MistaJam and DJ Target. Alex and Stef are also the head honchos of Get Twisted Records, which has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2012, with hit after hit making waves on both the underground and radio. Get Twisted Records now has a core set of artists establishing themselves on the UK market and beyond. It’s easy to see why Tough Love’s imprint is making a big impact on the electronic scene.
